Purpose of the procedure
A face lift is essentially a three dimensional sculpting of sagging skin and muscles of the face. The procedure entails the removal of jowls so as to leave a more pleasant and youthful appearance to the face. The procedure may be combined with neck surgery, eyelid surgery, forehead lift, chemical peels and Laser surgery. The modern face lift incorporates three dimensional enhancement of the volume of the face that may be lost as a result of aging.
Plastic Surgery length
The procedure lasts for an approximate duration of 2 to 4 hours.
The procedure may be conducted under conscious sedation with local anaesthesia or under general anaesthesia.
The procedure may entail a day case or an overnight stay.
Post-operative tightness, swelling and bruising is a common experience for patients, and such may continue for 1 to 2 weeks after the surgery. Numbness may last up to several months, particularly in the cheek regions. The patient may return to work within 1 to 2 weeks and may be able to take part in strenuous activities, such as gym, within 2 to 3 weeks. Makeup can be applied after 1 to 2 weeks.*
The cost of the procedure is dependant on the length of he plastic surgery, the type of anaesthesia administered, the surgical setting used for the procedure, any associated cosmetic surgery, and resultant hospital stays.
Dr. Fayman is a firm believer in “natural look” face lift rather than in a “wind blown” appearance. In carefully selected patients, a short scar face lift can be applied. This procedure is performed by means of an incision, hidden within the ear skin creases and cartilaginous convolutions. Facial rejuvenation procedure consists of a variety of plastic surgery techniques and manoeuvres carefully selected and adapted to a specific patient’s requirements. These techniques can be engaged to refresh the faces of patients who range from being in their late 30’s to patients in their 80’s experiencing severe aging changes. Associated cosmetic surgery procedures are often performed at the same time and may include the filling of skin folds on the side of the mouth, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, forehead and neck surgery as well as breasts and body contouring procedures.
